Preparing graduate student and professionals to serve in higher education management and international development leadership positions has been a very rewarding experience for me. My courses are structured around clear objectives based on the subject matter. Mentoring Philosophy

My mentoring philosophy is simple—do all that I can to help my students, advisees, and individuals I work with on research and training projects reach their full potential. Good mentors care about those they mentor. This can only be achieved by getting to know them and truly understanding the diverse circumstances and needs that they have. This is particularly important when mentoring international students, who come from many diverse backgrounds, cultures, and countries. Higher Education Human Resource Management

Among the higher education leadership courses Dr. Jacob teaches is Higher Education Human Resource Management. This course provides a basic understanding of human resource management (HRM) operations within the setting of higher education institutions (HEIs). It helps class members identify and assess contemporary challenges in HRM on local, national, and international levels. In addition, the course introduces the organizational aspects of HRM from strategic operational perspectives.

This course focuses on the development of human resource policies and systems that facilitate the conduct of activities in colleges and universities through the effective and efficient utilization of administrators, faculty, and staff. Read More
